The AI-Native Double Diamond
A classic design framework, re-read for a world where AI does the making.
A reworking of the well-known Double Diamond model for teams working with generative AI. The four stages hold, but the tools, the pace, and the split of labour between human and machine all change inside it. A familiar map for an unfamiliar landscape.
The problem
As AI compresses parts of the creative and product process, there’s a recurring anxiety that established frameworks are now obsolete. The real question is quieter: what endures, and what has to change?
The approach
I kept the four-stage structure and, for each stage, examined the shifting tool landscape, surfaced one non-obvious insight, offered a reusable workflow, and included deliberate counter-examples to avoid over-claiming. The through-line: framing and judgment stay human; execution accelerates.
The outcome
A shareable framework and a set of giveaway workflows that teams and students can adopt as a reference and teaching lens.
